Adath Jeshurun

History

Congregation Adath Jeshurun is dedicated to Conservative Judaism and its dynamic interpretation of Jewish law, offering a variety of opportunities for individual and communal spiritual growth.

The Congregation is committed to life-long education (Torah), a traditional style of worship (Avodah) and acts of loving kindness, both within and outside the Jewish community (G’milut Hassadim).

The Congregation emphasizes egalitariansm, which results in consciously striving to provide women and men the opportunity to share equal responsibilities and privileges in all aspects of synagogue life.

The Congregation fosters a sense of family, togetherness, and sociability among its members by being part of their daily lives, ministering to their life cycle needs, and offering support at critical times.

The Congregation intends to achieve its mission with sensitivity to and broad involvement of its members in a warm, welcoming environment, while contributing to the welfare of the total community.

The Congregation sponsors a broad array of social events, speakers, retreats, music programs, art projects, Israel trips, cruises and more.

Adath Jeshurun has an award-winning preschool and participates in a community religious school and Hebrew school. There are also active youth groups, adult education and social action programs.
