Monday, January 15, 2024 • 5 Shevat 5784
7:00 PM - 8:30 PMWHERE: Roots 101 African-American Museum, 124 North 1st Street
Sponsored by Adath Jeshurun, Keneseth Israel, and Roots 101 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
Set in April 1968 “Heschel’s Passover Eve” is a solo performance that follows Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel as he prepares for a very special seder. He’s invited his friend and traveling companion, Dr Martin Luther King Jr. to attend. His preparations for seder night infuse the Jewish “Festival of Freedom” with universal meanings and links the call “let my people go,” to the struggle for human rights, social activism, the need for Tikkun Olam, Zionism and Jewish peoplehood.
