AJ Wants to Connect with You!

Until further notice, the synagogue building is closed, however, the Congregation is booming with online activity! 
The clergy and AJ Office staff are now working from home to continue serving our members.  Emails are still working.  Although the phones can’t be answered remotely, voice-mail messages are being rerouted to clergy and staff, so that they can get back to you. Please reach out if you need us. We are only a call or a click away!  All staff can easily be reached by clicking here: 
AJ is now offering virtual minyan services online and by phone, as well as Kabbalat Shabbat services. We hope to be able to stream Shabbat services soon, and we will let you know when we are set up to do so.

Enjoy “A Daily Dose” by Cantor David Lipp!
Cantor Lipp is creating a daily presentation (around 15 – 25 minutes) of songs and stories for AJ Preschool families. What he did not count on was that the series has become very popular with adults as well! The presentations deal with the theme of Passover. Cantor Lipp will be posting the series daily each weekday morning around 11:00 a.m.

Louisville Melton Offers New Online Courses via Zoom:

    Mark Klein is an AJ member and a Louisville native. He has made his living with laughter for over 30 years. Media credits include CBS, Showtime, Forbes, GQ, and Sirius XM. Mark headlines shows for cruise ships, corporate events, country clubs, resorts, and 55+ communities from Alaska to the Bahamas. His comedy shows are SERIOUSLY funny!

    AJ Member, Professor Jasmine Farrier received her Ph.D. in Government in 2000. In 2002, she joined the Dept. of Political Science at U of L. Her current courses and research span all three branches of government, including a new book on inter-branch lawsuits, separation of powers, and constitutional law. In December 2019, Cornell University Press published her book: "Constitutional Dysfunction on Trial: Congressional Lawsuits and the Separation of Powers."

    Torah Yoga - CANCELLED

    Torah Yoga is for students in grades K - 7 and their parents, and will be held in the Slosberg Event Center. Rabbi Diane Tracht will lead this fun-filled 45-minute session of meditation and yoga connected to the practice of mussar, the Jewish practice of developing ethical qualities in body and spirit. Students will experience a meaningful service and feel great while focusing on strengthening their sense of gratitude.

    Singer John Gage "Song of Freedom"

    John Gage is a beloved singer, songwriter, and storyteller who performs folk, blues, gospel, and 60's rock. He is host of the Kentucky Homefront radio show featured on WFPK FM 91.9 on Saturday mornings. He also serves as a guest performer in AJ Preschool, which is a REAL TREAT for students, parents, and staff alike! For John, music is a life-long joy and an ongoing learning process that keeps him connected to creativity and the gift of life.

    Kabbalah 1 is a paradigm-shifting course that reveals the secrets of kabbalistic teachings, the golden rules you can master if you seek more fulfillment in your life. Kabbalah explains that there is the world that we see (the physical world) and a much larger realm, just as real, that is unseen (the spiritual world). We are souls from the spiritual world living in bodies of the physical world. The wisdom of Kabbalah explores both, explaining the spiritual laws of the universe in order to improve and enhance our life experience in this world.
