Yizkor Information
Remembering our loved ones.
Yizkor is a service in which memorial prayers are recited. The service takes place four times a year on the following holidays: Yom Kippur, Shemini Atzeret, Pesach and Shavuot. Yizkor is also recited beginning with the first Yom tov day following the death of a loved one.
A Yahrzeit Candle is lit at sundown on the following days:
• The last night of Passover.
• The second night of Shavuot.
• The eve of Yom Kippur (Kol Nidre).
• The night of Shemini Atzeret (the 8th day of Sukkot).
• The anniversary of a death.
• The second night of Shavuot.
• The eve of Yom Kippur (Kol Nidre).
• The night of Shemini Atzeret (the 8th day of Sukkot).
• The anniversary of a death.
