Melton Honoring Professor Ed Segal! - CANCELLED

Saturday, March 28, 2020 3 Nisan 5780

9:30 AM - 1:00 PM
Adath Jeshurun has been urged to help stem the spread of the Coronavirus. We understand that events which bring people together may put seniors and those with underlying health conditions at risk. Community-distancing only works if everyone participates. With regret, this event has been cancelled.
The entire community is invited to join Louisville Melton at Adath Jeshurun as we honor Edwin Segal, Professor Emeritus of Anthropology at the University of Louisville, and volunteer Louisville Melton teacher.  Ed will be honored during the Sabbath service at Congregation Adath Jeshurun, 2401 Woodbourne Avenue, on Saturday, March 28, 2020. The worship service begins at 9:30 a.m.  Ed will be delivering the d’var Torah that morning on “Melton and Sacrifice.”

Ed is being honored for his years of volunteering to prepare and teach the difficult course, “Beyond Borders: The History of the Arab-Israeli Conflict.” He has taught this course many times to many learners, several of whom repeated the course because of Ed’s knowledge and ability to teach this complex and ever-relevant subject.

Following the Shabbat worship service, Louisville Melton is proud to sponsor a celebration kiddush lunch in honor of Ed.
