Come learn about the success of local companies and organizations employing people with disabilities, with our Shabbat Scholars Tyler Levy, front desk member services, and Deena Doud, General Manager, both members of the team at Planet Fitness. Tyler and Deena will discuss their work environment and working relationship in the fitness industry.
Shabbat Scholar Loren Pilcher is the lead key strategic partner at Disability Revolution, a disability and woman-owned national disability consulting firm, which delivers comprehensive solutions to non-profits, small businesses, corporations, government entities (federal/state/local), and individual clients. Loren will share research on the interplay between how systems can uplift and at the same time undermine the disability community, drawing on two decades of experience working in the disability field.
Facilitated by Melanie Hughes, Indiana University Southeast librarian and faculty advisor to the Study Buddies, an academically-minded student organization of neurodivergent friends and allies. Our panel will help you learn how to cast a wide net when hiring to build a strong, inclusive workforce.
